Haven’t been able to get the VPN server functionality working (which is really handy seeing as that is a major reason I bought this router!). Also have had wireless dropout problems with Apple Macs which doesn’t happen with other routers.

I have the baby brother of this router (runs same firmware), but wired only. The router is slow and has trouble with FTP

A good piece of hardware, but with flaky firmware. The latest firmware is Very unreliable, causing regular wireless dropouts, yet adding some great feature enhancements.
To get reliable connectivity, you need to downgrade the firmware, and run with less features.
The Linksys forums suggests Linksys will fix the issues with the latest firmware, yet it’s been 12 months with no sign of a good level !
