Draytek Vigor2910G
4 Port 802.11G+ Wireless Router with Dual WAN capability, VPN, Firewall, USB Print Server & USB 3G modem support
Comments: Super G (up to 108mbs) wireless version of the 2910 now with support for 3G modems*. * Click here for 3G modem compatibility list (not all 3G modems are compatible) Note: The USB port on the back can be used for either a print server or a 3G modem. The 2910, 2820 & 5510 series can support a USB hub so you can use it for both a print server and the 3G modem at the same time. However, this feature is not available on the 2800 series because it doesn't have the processing power to cope with it. See Draytek Support FAQs for 3G setup instructions. Click here for a test drive

The main reason for purchasing this router was so I could network my Maxon BP3-EXT.I also have a Bigpond cable account and although reliable,if it does go out I have nothing.
The DrayTek Vigor 2910g allows my 3G connection to kick in if the cable service goes offline without any intervention or swapping around cables.
I have only had this router for a few hours but already think it is the best one I have connected to my network. It replaces a D-Link DIR-655 and although I had to sacrifice Draft N wireless and Gigabit ports, the trade off for networking my 3G service has been worth it.
Basically, the set up was fairly straight forward however I found downloading and going through the manual before purchasing the router helped me understand the different functions. It detected my Bigpond cable service straight away and setting up the 3G service was very easy indeed.
All in all, very pleased with my purchase |
