Comments: Adding VoIP to the 2110n, the 2110Vn is basically a redesign/upgrade of the old 2100VG adding 802.11n wireless instead of 802.11g and a USB port for USB printers or a 3G modem.

Note: The FXO port for some reason is linked to the second FXS port rather than the first as might be expected. This means for PSTN failover to work during a power outage, the telephone handset must be plugged into the second FXS port.

Commtouch GlobalView Web Content Filtering subscription is also available as an extra. Click here for details at the online shop.

Having tried 2 other wireless broadband routers over the last few years with limitied success i.e. they worked but not without issues. I brought the Vigor2110Vn and have been extremely happy with it. I don’t use all the features but I put 7 db antennas on it to try and get extra range through some thick walls which has worked to some degree, but still requires a range extender to go with it to cover all dead spots in the house. The best thing about it and being older’ish model means that it is a tried and tested system, doesn’t look like it sells very well compared to the newer models but then you don’t find any mention of it on most blog or the whirlpool site for good reason, there isn’t much that would appear to go wrong with it once working up. Has been very stable and never needs rebooting. So can reccomend it.
