Anybody who gave this product 5 stars probably works for d-link. Incredible dns issues. You cannot surf the web properly with this product. Some web sites OK but others OK now and again.Hopeless product |

This device is bad. DNS regularly crashes and assigns the same IP address to different clients.
Don’t buy. You get what you pay for.
I have had mine for 18 months and have had enough. I have just bought a Billion. |

Has its days, lots of DNS issues when it can’t renew IP address. Have to shutdown and reboot. On good days it might have issues twice maybe, on bad days, have to reboot it every hour. |

Looking for a cheap router that works with ADSL? While at the price and with the features it seems perfect for students on a tight budget (or the elderly) it is just terrible. The antenna is removable- a good thing seeing how low quality the included one is, it is constantly at an angle. It requires a firmware patch just to use Xbox Live (the settings weren’t included by default). It’s only saving grace (for students) is that if you want to run a server for any game it already has preset settings for lots of popular titles, pity it doesn’t matter because its so slow. Finally the internet problems. Ours disconnects constantly usually every hour or two and its not just ours. Forums are littered with various problems concerning connectivity issues. It also has a habit of assigning two devices to the same IP, I’m not talking about two devices just connected I’m saying two devices that have been on the network for ages! Don’t buy this router/modem looks cheap, works for 3 months then becomes a constant source of annoyance. |

Abismal device, had it for 18 months and had nothing but issues, DNS often goes down. Assigns Same IP’s to multiple devices. Major issues with connecting ps3 to net, had to stick in dmz just to make it work.Latest firmware update has fixed certain problems such as the modem cutting out entirely when trying to download Wow Patches. However it has broken iphone compatibility with numerous apps on iphone now failing to fetch content such as facebook updating its wall.
Rubbish device. Never buy it |

Works OK with ADSL2 - No real DNS issues, but wifi can be a little patchy, especially when DHCP assigns duplicate IPs to wireless devices like iPhones. Not great, but not the worst I’ve ever used. |

DNS drop outs are due to loss of the ATM link to the local exchange. Depends on each exchange. The modem should try to re-instate the link itself. |

I’m surprised to see a few negative comments on this unit. No I don’t work for D-link. Also I am with TPG. My original unit got cooked by a lightning strike and I’m on unit number two - still no problems. It appears that may not be the case with Apple Macs judging by some posts. |

As Dave says massive DNS problems, works for 5 minutes then crashes saying cannot find DNS server. Absolute junk will never buy D-link again... Wondering if Rob works for them?? |

Unable to use wirelessly with Australian TPG and a macbook pro. Exchanged for Netgear and worked without any trouble. |

Excellent unit, particularly for the price.
Fast and stable with excellent wifi networking performance.
I’m extremely happy with mine.
The antenna IS REMOVABLE despite what Ozcableguy data indicates.
OzCableguy: Thanks Rob. I couldn’t find that info anywhere in the D-Link specs and it wasn’t clear from the images. Fixed. |
