Draytek Vigor2820Vn pricing announced

While we’re still looking at an ETA of late March or early April, at last we have some pricing available on this eagerly awaited model. Good news too that it will be available as a non-combo and there’s now a non-combo version of the 2820n as well.

But wait, there’s more. ;)

Also available are antenna upgrade combos to either 5 or 7 dbi antennas* at a substantial discount off the normal antenna price, combos with the N61 USB adapter for around $30 extra (saving around $80 off the usual N61 price) and a new rackmount kit to suit the 2820 series case.

Check out the whole 2820 range & pricing here.

* I get a lot of people asking me if they need the upgraded antennas. That’s a tough one to answer off site but as a rule of thumb you can expect a range of up to 100 metres with the standard antennas, give or take 50 metres depending on obstructions and interfering signals. Stepping up to a 5dbi antenna will generally improve range by 10 – 15 % and about the same again stepping up to a 7dbi. Basically, bigger is better, especially if you live in a concrete bunker but if you’re in a standard 3 bedroom gyprock-walled house you should be fine with the standard antennas.
